Four awards were given – Outstanding Ability to Teach, Creative or Innovative Teaching, Best Platform for Employment and Outstanding Commitment to Student Welfare – at a ceremony in the Student Centre.
Professor Nicholas Terry, Principal and Vice-Chancellor (Acting), presented the awards and congratulated all members of staff for their commitment to excellent education.
Dr Adam Sampson won Outstanding Ability to Teach, Dr Ian Ferguson for Creative or Innovative Teaching, Helen Smith for Best Platform for Employment, and Lynn Parker for Outstanding Commitment to Student Welfare.
Professor Nicholas Terry said: "I'd like to congratulate all of the winners and nominees at the Student-Led Teaching Awards. It's a great pleasure to see our students voting for excellence in teaching, developing employability and supporting student welfare.
"This week the QAA gave Abertay its highest recommendation, and every member of staff deserves our thanks for their continuing commitment to empowering and life-changing education at Abertay University."
Dr Andy Samuel and Dr Cornelia Junge were also officially given Honorary Life Membership of the Students' Association for their support for the students’ ‘Hands Off Abertay’ anti-merger campaign.
